‘X-Men ’97′ Renewed For Season 3 on Disney+, New Season 2 Details Revealed


Exciting news for Marvel fans!

X-Men ’97, the animated series on Disney+, has already been renewed for a third season, several months before season two premieres, Variety reports.

The big news was announced during the Marvel Television and Marvel Animation showcase at 2025 New York Comic Con on Saturday (October 11) in New York City.

In addition, a season trailer was shown for those in attendance, showing off the return of such characters as Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Gray, Jubilee, Nightcrawler and more.

Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum announced that Eric and Julia Leward, who originally created X-Men: The Animated Series, have joined season two as Executive Producers, along with original series director Larry Houston!

The news of the series’ original creators and director returning comes after X-Men ’97 creator and head writer Beau DeMayo was terminated from the show and stripped of his credits.

If you didn’t know, X-Men ’97 is a sequel series to X-Men: The Animated Series.

Marvel confirmed that X-Men ’97 season two will premiere in the Summer of 2026 on Disney+!
