Jonathan Bailey plays Fiyero in the Wicked movies, but sadly he did not perform the role during the NBC special Wicked: One Wonderful Night.
The 37-year-old actor, who just earned the title of People‘s Sexiest Man Alive, unfortunately had a scheduling conflict that prevented him from attending the concert taping back in September.
Fans will still get to see “Dancing Through Life” performed on the special though as he had some understudies filling in for him.

“Dancing Through Life” is performed on the special by Wicked actors Bowen Yang, Ethan Slater, and Marissa Bode.
Bowen starts off the performance and claims to be Jonathan‘s understudy. After the first verse, Ethan then appears on stage and says that he’s actually the understudy. They then perform the next verse together. Eventually, Marissa comes out on stage and says she’s the understudy too and they complete the song as a trio!
