True Detective is continuing to attract top talent!
The fifth season of HBO’s anthology series is in the works and it’s being reported that Nicolas Cage is in talks to lead the new season.
The series was created by Nic Pizzolatto, but after running the first three seasons, Issa Lopez took over in season four. She will return as the writer and showrunner of season four, according to Deadline.

Not much is known about the fifth season, other than that it will take place in the Jamaica Bay neighborhood of New York. Sources said that Nicolas will play “Henry Logan, a New York detective on the case at the center of the new season.”
Filming will take place in 2026 and the season will air in 2027 on HBO.
True Detective has previously starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in season one, Colin Farrell and Rachel McAdams in season two, Mahershala Ali in season three, and Jodie Foster in season four.
