Travis Kelce is giving fans a glimpse into what it was like listening to his fiancée Taylor Swift’s new music!
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 36, described hearing Swift’s new album The Life of a Showgirl for the first time in front of her as “a different feel” as he reflected on the experience on the Oct. 8 episode of his and brother Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast.
“I presume that you were listening to them while Taylor was in the room with you?” Jason, 37, asked his brother and co-host. “Does that feel weird when an artist is in the same room with you and you’re listening to the lyrics?”
“It’s a different feel, for sure, but I got used to it real quick … I just listen to it wholeheartedly, because it’s her creation, you just want to appreciate it for what it is, you know?” Travis said of Swift, 35. “And I think that’s the biggest thing is to make sure that the person you’re in the room with knows you’re open to what they’re creating.”
The NFL star mentioned that it was particularly poignant to hear Swift’s new songs about their relationship and love for each other.
“It was fun to hear all these come together, knowing that a few of them — as she’s mentioned — have been about our life together,” he continued. “It’s just been fun to see everybody depict them and all the videos online and people dancing and smiling and having a blast with this.”

Elsewhere on the podcast, Travis reacted to Swift’s raunchiest song yet on her new album, “Wood,” which includes several cheeky innuendos made by the singer referencing his manhood.
Travis simply called the track “a great song” as Jason grilled him further about it. “Do you feel, do you feel — not confident — do you feel cocky about the song ‘Wood’?” Jason asked.
“No,” Travis responded. “Any song that she references me in is very…”
“That’s not just any song. This is a very specific you,” Jason interjected, adding, “It’s not just you. It’s an appendage. It’s a very specific thing.”
“What? I think you’re not understanding the song,” teased Travis.
Jason proceeded to go over the lyrics of the song to point out Swift’s references to Travis and joke about his own manhod.
“Travis, come on. ‘Redwood tree ain’t hard to see’… I thought redwood, that’s a little bit, that’s a generous word, I think,” he said. “I think if somebody wrote a song about me, it’d be like, ‘Japanese maple sometimes can see.’ ”

After Travis didn’t comment further, Jason continued, “That song’s great though. The freaking beat to that song is fantastic and that’s right up my alley, so well done … I think inserting wood innuendos is always childish enough for me that I can get on board with that.”
In a teaser for the podcast’s Oct. 8 episode, Travis praised Swift 12th studio album.
“Let’s just give it up for Taylor real quick,” Travis told Jason. “She’s done it again. She’s put the world on tilt.”
“It’s been so fun to see everyone’s reactions and we’ve had an absolute blast,” Travis continued, adding, “Watching her go through all of her press tour, or radios, and all these talk shows, she’s looked amazing, sounded amazing, and this album is absolutely amazing. And if you haven’t heard it yet please go check out The Life of a Showgirl.”
