  • Having missed their flight from Rome, Italy, to Nice, France, the pair bought a ticket at the airport for a later flight
  • However, they claim the airport employee “misheard” them and booked them onto a journey to Tunis, Tunisia instead

Two American tourists found themselves 500 miles away from their intended destination after boarding the wrong flight.

Brittney Dzialo explained in a series of TikTok videos posted under the handle @brittneydzialo_ that she and her friend Hannah were in Rome, Italy, and planning to go to France when the mishap occurred.

She captured on camera the moment that they approached a fellow passenger to confirm they were flying to Nice, France, but was soon corrected that the plane they had boarded was heading to Tunis, Tunisia.

“Where’s Tunis?” Hannah can be heard saying, as she and Brittney look at a map on her phone.

A flight attendant then confirmed that they were going to Africa after examining their tickets. A second crew member went on to advise Brittney and Hannah to stay on the plane and get a transfer flight once they arrived in Tunis.

“The airline employee misheard us and booked us a flight to Tunisia, Africa, instead of Nice, France,” the caption over the video read. “The whole plane witnessed our spiral and either found it entertaining or hated us.”

In a follow-up video, Brittney is seen explaining to an employee at the airport in Tunisia how they ended up in Africa.

“We missed the flight, so the airline employee in Rome rescheduled us,” one of them can be heard saying. “But when they rescheduled our flight, they thought we said Tunis, Africa, but no, we said to Nice, France, so they gave us the wrong flight.”

Having spoken to multiple members of staff at the airport, Brittney and Hannah were eventually booked onto a flight to France. They vented about having to pay for the trip despite the mishap allegedly being the fault of the airport employee in Rome.

Brittney joked in a subsequent video showing them boarding the plane bound for France about having gotten “PTSD” from the chaotic journey.

The comment sections of each video documenting the saga was flooded with people baffled by how the pair ended up in the situation.

“You should be embarrassed at the number of things you just didn’t read to catch this problem earlier,” one person wrote.

“I’m confused?! The amount of signs, airport staff and gates, etc. How do you get on the wrong flight? Your boarding pass has all of your details and the workers would know it’s the wrong flight before you get anywhere near the plane,” another commented.

“They are not on the wrong flight, they bought the wrong ticket,” a third chimed in. “The attendant looked at the ticket and confirmed that this plane is going where the ticket says.”

“Honestly, you should have just rolled with it and explored Tunisia for a few days before going to France,” another commenter added.
