Sophie Turner is confirmed as Lara Croft!
The 29-year-old actress will take on the leading role in Prime Video’s adaptation of the famed video game franchise.
If you don’t know, Phoebe Waller-Bridge is being billed as the series’ creator, writer, and executive producer!
In a statement, Sophie acknowledged the honor of playing the female icon, and gave props to past Lara Crofts: Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander.
Sophie said in a statement, “I am thrilled beyond measure, to be playing Lara Croft. She’s such an iconic character, who means so much to so many – and I am giving everything I’ve got. They’re massive shoes to fill, following in the steps of Angelina and Alicia with their powerhouse performances, but with Phoebe at the helm, we (and Lara) are all in very safe hands. I can’t wait for you all to see what we have cooking.”
Variety reports that production will begin in January 2026.
