Sisu: Road to Revenge currently has a 95% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Guardian gave it 4 out of 5, writing: “Sisu 2 is a more-of-the-same sequel. The good news is that it remains terrific: punchy, old-school stunt work, crisply uncluttered cutting, and varied, inventive baddie-splattering.”

Empire gave it 4 out of 5, writing: “Finnish him! Gore-soaked and unbelievably bloody, this will make you wince, gasp and cheer for the little guy. Another authoritarian regime is in for a bad day, and that’s a lovely thing to watch.”

RogerEbert.com gave it 3.5 out of 4, writing: “Road to Revenge reimagines everything that worked about Sisu, but it does what an action sequel should do and builds on it instead of just repeating the same barely-controlled chaos. This movie rules.”

Bloody Disgusting gave it 4 out of 5, writing: “Helander channels George Miller in his raucous Mad Max-like road thriller that gives a big, bloody middle finger to reality in favor of crowd-pleasing action carnage.”

Slant gave it 3 out of 4, writing: “Much of Road to Revenge plays like a spectacularly gory silent film, with Aatami taking out scores of Red Army soldiers in action scenes that are as inventive as they are incredibly funny.”
