Brian May, the very famous Beatles guitarist and scientist, has sent out a good New Year’s message which not only refers to the time he worked with NASA but also to the various paths that have been opened in front of people and the necessity for them to take those paths. The post along with a video featuring a custom song and two digital artists’ artwork encouraged a large number of people all over the world to respond positively.

The artist’s work was May’s expression of feelings for the new year. He said: “Hi, my dear people!! I am sending you my thoughts in wishing you a wonderful New Year–new horizons, new opportunities, new dreams, new challenges, new fulfillments!!!” The health matter was pointed out by him as foremost and he added that without health it’s very difficult to enjoy life. Then, he expressed his gratitude to the artists @concha_q and @st.zlat.proreal for presenting in a ‘timely reminder’ what he described as ‘one of the most inspiring times of my life’—his being a guest collaborator on NASA’s New Horizons mission.

May considers the mission that had the flyby of Pluto in 2015 and then went on to visit the Kuiper belt object Arrokoth quite a special one. Perhaps the sound of the video is an original piece that has the phrases ‘New horizons, dream got true’ and ‘We’re off to new horizons, so hold on to the reason me.’ May concluded his bright side note with a challenge: ‘But the FUTURE is still out there!! Let’s go find it!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR to all creatures! Including YOU!!!’

User @concha_q was, in particular, the artist to whom May credited whose reaction was the longest and most emotional as well as the least skeptical and most grateful. ‘I just woke up. And I saw that our great friend… mentioned me. I had to look at it several times because I thought I was dreaming,’ they shared. ‘This means so much to me… My tears today are tears of pure happiness.’ In a follow-up comment, the artist admitted, ‘My fingers are shaking with excitement and nerves.’

The other artist credited, @st.zlat.proreal, also answered with love and praise, calling May an ‘inspiring boy’ and saying ‘thank you for the recognition.’ The act of May recognizing their fan-created work was not lost on the others in the community. One spectator remarked, ‘Awwww how lovely for you to recognize these two wonderful artists.’

Personal acknowledgments were not the only thing that the post brought, it also reached out to those who admire the twin legacy of May in music and science. A user expressed, “We can reach for New Horizons. We can reach for the stars!” This idea is the rare situation in which Brian May stands—a rock star who with his help has literally sent a probe to the cloud of our solar system and is uplifting people with the new year experience. His personal communication of thanks, appreciation for the arts, and curiosity about the universe was a comforting and uplifting start of 2026 for his loyal fans. In other news, Saturn’s rings are a topic of recent discussion. Additionally, his community efforts, like the time Brian May plants daffodils with children, show his dedication. He also recently took time to congratulate Rosie Bennett on her achievement.
