Seth Rogen Talks Planning ‘The Studio’ Season 2 Cameos, Teases 1 Episode Would Have to Be Entirely Re-Written If Someone Says No

The cast of The Studio hit the red carpet at the Televerse Festival held at JW Marriott LA Live on Saturday (August 16) in Los Angeles.

Dave Franco, Seth Rogen, Chase Sui Wonders, Bryan Cranston and Kathryn Hahn were all in attendance for an FYC panel, which was moderated by Yvette Nicole Brown.

At the panel, Seth dished on casting the show and teased that they’re planning season two cameos as they are writing the next episodes.

“For the main cast, we really had in our heads who we wanted it to be. And in my head I was like, ‘I’m assembling like a jazz band and I’m kind of the drummer and I need everyone to be able to do their roles in the band impeccably,’” Seth shared, via Indie Wire. “And so I love Kathryn Hahn. And Chase I think was maybe the first person cast on the show. Cranston is someone I’ve been a fan of for years and years and years, and I’ve met him a few times. [Ike] Barinholtz who’s not here, and Catherine [O’Hara]. … It was like ‘This is the dream group of people I could get to work with on a day-to-day basis.’ And people who I felt I could be really funny.”

“With the cameos, it was much harder, honestly,” he added.

Speaking of cameos, in season two, Seth teased there’s one episode where if anyone says no to appearing, they will have to scrap the whole episode.

“We’re in a similar position right now as we’re writing the second season,” he revealed. “We’re like, we have an episode where if one person says no, we have to throw the entire idea away and write an entirely new episode.”

If you missed it, The Studio premiered in March and was quickly renewed for a second season before the first season finale debuted.
