Selena Gomez has that newlywed glow.

Weeks after tying the knot, the actress and singer, 33, attended the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles with husband Benny Blanco on Saturday, Oct. 18.

For the event, which raises money for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, Gomez exuded old Hollywood elegance in a glamorous black gown featuring sparkly embellishments. She paired the dress with a black suit jacket on top of her, a bold red lip and her hair in an updo.

Blanco, 27, meanwhile, looked dapper in a black jacket and pants, which he paired with a blue dress shirt that was left unbuttoned at the top.

The Academy Museum Gala honors Penélope Cruz, Walter Salles, Bruce Springsteen and SNL‘s Bowen Yang. Last year’s event brought in $11 million, per Deadline.

The annual gathering took place a day after the Daytime Emmy Awards, where Gomez was nominated in the Outstanding Culinary Series for her work on Selena + Restaurant. (The award instead went to Delicious Miss Brown.)

Gomez is a three-time Daytime Emmy nominee, having been previously nominated for Selena + Chef (2020) and its holiday spin-off. When she spoke with PEOPLE in 2022, the former Disney star opened up about how her show has come so far.

“Season 1, I was a complete disaster, and not to say I still don’t have my moments, but I’ve come a long way,” she admitted. “I love when I get the chance to cook for my friends and family.”

Her latest series Selena + Restauraunt is up for Outstanding Culinary Instructional Series.

The show premiered on Max in May 2024 and features Gomez exploring the competitive L.A. food scene with her best friend, Raquelle Stevens, while also learning about the ins and outs of the restaurant industry.

“After cooking mostly virtually from my kitchen with some of the best chefs for the last four years, I was thrilled to step into their world,” Gomez said in a press release about the show. “You’ll have to see if being in person helped my skills at all.”

Fans got to see the Only Murders in the Building actress in a stunning wardrobe of bridal looks in photos shared on Instagram of her nuptials, which took place in California. Although the special day included multiple outfit changes, it was Gomez’s main gown that stole the show.

Styled by her longtime stylist Erin Walsh, Gomez walked down the aisle in a custom Ralph Lauren floral halter-neck gown that featured the newlywed’s initials in hearts, an inscription of their wedding date and 300 hand-shaped and applied lace flowers and crystal embellishments on a hand-painted corset. She also wore a vintage-inspired reception dress and a blazer look for reception.

The pair also shared a glimpse at their wedding bands after the ceremony, which was attended by Ed Sheeran, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Paul Rudd and Paris Hilton.

In addition to her cooking shows and onscreen projects, Gomez is also the founder of Rare Beauty and the Rare Impact Fund. While appearing on a panel during the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit on Oct. 15, she opened up about the advice that helps her stay grounded — and it just so happens it was passed on from her close friend Taylor Swift.

“She’s one of the most brilliant people I’ve ever met. She is very strong in her lane, and she gives great advice all the time,” she said. “I’m not sure what I would say I’ve done for her other than been there as a friend.”

Gomez even shared the words of wisdom passed down to her from the “Elizabeth Taylor” singer, 35, that have stuck with her. “If you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room.”
