Whitney Leavitt is clearing the air about whether she used Ozempic injections to slim down after welcoming her third baby.
“False, you guys, I am not on Ozempie,” Whitney, 32, said during a recent YouTube interview with It Girl, referring to the weight loss medication and those online rumors. “I did do Ozempie after Liam but after Billy, I’ve been counting my macros.”
Whitney and her husband, Connor Leavitt, share three children: Sedona, 4, Liam, 2, and Billy, 11 months.
“I did Ozempic [and] I loved it,” she recalled during the interview. “Sure, I was skinny, but] I had diarrhea, I was throwing up all the time, and then as soon as I got off of it, I gained all the weight back.”
Ozempic and other similar GLP-1s are commonly prescribed to adults who struggle with weight-related conditions, such as obesity and diabetes. Doctors often caution individuals against using the controversial medication for casual weight loss.
After Whitney’s struggles with the drug, she opted against using Ozempic again after giving birth to Billy in 2024.
“I’m having a healthier relationship with food. I’ve been counting my macros, and it’s been incredible. Highly recommend,” she said. “You know, I’m just trying to think of the long haul. So, no Ozempie this time, you guys. [I’m] debunking the rumors.”
Whitney previously opened up about her wellness journey on a 2023 episode of the “Weekly Trash” podcast.
“I’ve just always been happier when I just embrace [my body],” she said at the time. “What I have is a gift, and I’d hate to have 10 years go down the line and [regret thinking I look fat]. I never want that, and I don’t want that for my kids either.”
According to Whitney, she balanced her Ozempic usage with a Weight Watchers plan.
“Those two are not correlated at all,” the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star said on the podcast. “I started Weight Watchers [and] I partnered with them. I got into this weight loss journey, like, I was feeling great, doing great. I got really excited until I felt like there was a halt.”
Whitney subsequently spoke to a nurse practitioner at the local Rise Rejuvenation Center in Utah, where she learned how her hypothyroidism was affecting her progress.
“I have hypothyroidism, and it just jacks up your hormones [and] I was just retaining all this weight,” Whitney said, detailing advice she got from the medical professional. “She was actually the one who suggested, ‘I really think that you’d love this even if it’s just for a little bit.’”
She continued, “I’ve loved it, but I’ve also hated it. I’ve loved the weight loss, [but] I’ve hated how I felt on it. … You’re nauseous, I feel like I’m easily irritable but it’s probably because [the drug] was also suppressing my appetite. So, I’m weaning off it. I’m not going to take it anymore.”
Now that Whitney has stopped taking Ozempic doses, she manages her weight by watching her diet and getting in frequent workouts. Whitney’s fitness regimen also now includes training for Dancing With the Stars, where she’s paired with Mark Ballas for its 34th season.
