Sarah Jessica Parker to Receive Carol Burnett Award Ahead of Golden Globes 2026


Sarah Jessica Parker is going to be honored!

On Thursday (November 13), it was announced that the 60-year-old Sex and the City actress will be receiving the the Carol Burnett Award ahead of the 2026 Golden Globes for her contributions to television.

“Sarah Jessica Parker’s career embodies the very spirit of the Carol Burnett Award,” Golden Globes President Helen Hoehne shared in a statement, per People.

She added, “Her trailblazing impact on television and her dedication to storytelling across stage and screen have left an indelible mark on popular culture. We are honored to celebrate her extraordinary contributions to entertainment.”

SJP will be presented with the award during CBS’ “Golden Eve” special airing on Thursday, January 8, 2026 ahead of the 2026 Golden Globes, which will be taking place on Sunday, January 11. Also during the “Golden Eve,” Helen Mirren will be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

The Carol Burnett Award was first presented in 2019, with Carol Burnett herself being the inaugural recipient. Since then, the award has been given to Ellen DeGeneres, Norman Lear, Ryan Murphy, and Ted Danson.

Over the years, SJP has won five Golden Globes for her work on Sex and the City.
