Ryan Coogler is Shifting His Focus to ‘Black Panther 3′


Ryan Coogler has confirmed that Black Panther 3 is his next project!

The acclaimed filmmaker has had a fantastic year coming off of his original horror movie Sinners, which performed well both critically and financially, and now he’s preparing to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ryan was at the Deadline Contenders Film: Los Angeles event where he told Mike Fleming Jr. that it’s his “next movie.”

“If it was anybody but you, I would say, ‘I can neither confirm or deny,’” teased the two-time Oscar nominee. “But we’re working on it hard. … Yeah, it’s the next movie.”

The first Black Panther released in 2018 starred Chadwick Boseman in the lead role. He also played the character in several other MCU films like Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame.

Sadly, Chadwick passed away from colon cancer in 2020. The sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, was dedicated to his memory. In that film, Letitia Wright‘s character Shuri took over the Black Panther mantle.

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Denzel Washington had joined the cast of the Marvel film.
