Rebecca Ferguson reveals more details about mystery actor who ‘screamed in her face’ and admits she was ‘so scared’ of being fired

Rebecca Ferguson has revealed more details about the mystery co-star who ‘screamed in her face’ on set.

The actress, 40, who first shared her experience about the ‘idiot’ actor in February last year, admitted she was ‘so scared’ and told of how bosses can ‘fire you and give the job to someone else’ if you stand up to bullies.

She explained how other people who had worked with the unnamed person also ‘had a shitty time’

Speaking in an interview with The Times, Rebecca said: ‘This person would literally look at me and say, ‘You call yourself an actor?'”

‘I remember being so scared. And I looked at this person and said, “You can eff off. I’m going to work toward a tennis ball. I never want to see you again.'”

Rebecca explained how she had asked the person to leave the set and admitted she ‘didn’t applaud her own behavior’ in the situation.

She continued: ‘We put a lot of blame on bullies, and when we get older, we can understand that people are insecure. When you start standing up for yourself, it’s really tricky. They’ll fire you and give the job to someone else.’

Rebecca previously said the actor caused anxiety among her former castmates, as the media and fans scrambled to guess who she was talking about.

While appearing on SiriusXM program The Jess Cagle Show, the Dune star admitted that she did not expect her comments to cause such a stir.

Her initial anecdote called out an ‘absolute idiot’ actor who screamed at her, prompting her to walk off set in tears.

Afterward, Rebecca said, ‘I got phone calls from amazing costars who I’ve worked with going, “You understand what you’ve done, right?!”‘

The star added: ‘And I was like, “Oh my God. No, I didn’t think.”‘

But upon further reflection, Rebecca noted that it’s not her duty to protect celebrities from scrutiny.

She said: ‘I mean, it’s not my responsibility, to be honest. I don’t really care. You know, “You’re great, but my story is my story, and if you’re a good person, then don’t worry about it.”‘

Looking back on the attention her story got, she explained: ‘Number one, yes, I kind of enjoyed the grab.

‘But what I realised even at the age that I am now — 21 — is it doesn’t matter. I definitely think I’m much more open.

‘I also know where my boundaries are. But the point of the interview wasn’t about finding the person — of course, people will be interested.

‘But I was excited about the question, which was a very good question by [Josh Smith]. Because the point was: Is there a point in your career where you were treated in a way where you changed your decision on — this is how I formulated it in myself — where you want change, or you will not accept it?

‘And it was such a clear moment for me working with this person.’

In her original statement, she recalled, ‘I did a film with an absolute idiot of a costar — doesn’t matter who it is.

‘I’m going to try not to give this away, but I remember there was a moment, and this human being was being so insecure and angry because this person couldn’t get the scenes out. And I think I was so vulnerable and uncomfortable that I got screamed at.’

She said that ‘because this person was number one on the call sheet, there was no safety net’ for her.

‘So no one had my back. And I would cry walking off set,’ Ferguson added. ‘This person would literally look at me in front of the whole crew and say, “You call yourself an actor? This is what I have to work with? What is this?” And I stood there just breaking.’

Emily Blunt denied being the mystery former film costar, after her name began circulating on social media in the wake of the incendiary interview.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, a representative for Blunt said: ‘Rebecca and Emily are friends and there’s nothing but love between them.’
