Jeanita Hopings, an Ohio woman, has been charged and released after allegedly breaking into a man’s home and cutting his testicle.

According to KGNS News, an arrest warrant was initially issued for Jeanita Hopings on Wednesday, October 8. At the time, it had been reported that on Tuesday, October 7, Hopings broke into the home of a man she reportedly knew by kicking open his door. Furthermore, the man reportedly told authorities that he ran downstairs, clothesless, to see who entered his home. Once he came into contact with Hopings, she allegedly assaulted him, “cutting his testicle sac with an ‘unknown instrument.’”
Per the outlet, the incident caused his body part to be “clearly exposed as a result of the laceration.” Ultimately, the man required medical attention.

Subsequently, the 45-year-old Ohio woman was reportedly charged with “felonious assault and aggravated burglary,” per KGNS News. Additionally, per WGTV, she willingly turned herself in and appeared before a judge on Friday, October 10.
During the court appearance, Hopings was ordered to have no contact with the victim. Additionally, she was placed on electronic monitoring and “released on her own recognizance.” Furthermore, WGTV reports that she is due back in court on October 16. The New York Post adds that at this time, the motive behind her alleged actions remains unclear, while PEOPLE notes that the man is believed to be Hopings’ boyfriend.
Furthermore, it’s worth noting that a mugshot has circulated online of grinning Jeanita Hopings. However, the mugshot is from one of the previous arrests of the 45-year-old, who reportedly has had run-ins with authorities over “several traffic-related misdemeanors,” per PEOPLE. WGTV adds that the mugshot is from a 2012 arrest.

Jeanita Hopings isn’t the only woman to make recent headlines for her alleged actions. As The Shade Room previously reported, in January, a Missouri woman named Taylor Santiago allegedly shot and killed her ex-husband at her apartment complex. At the time, it was reportedly that the son they shared was present, and after the shooting, Santiago fled to Arkansas, where she allegedly shot the father of another one of her children.
