Offset is opening up about his regrets during his marriage to rap star Cardi B.
In an interview with Keke Palmer on the Tuesday, October 7, episode of the latter’s “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer” podcast, Offset, 33, confirmed that he and Cardi, 32, have yet to finalize their divorce. (Cardi filed for divorce from her estranged husband in July 2024 after six years of marriage.)
The Migos rapper said the divorce was “not yet [finalized], still going through it,” before going on to admit that he regrets cheating on his ex during their time together.
“I should have respected her way more. I made bad decisions, like stepping out,” Offset said. “Gotta take that on the chin. When she left, I had to take that on the chin. … We got so much, our kids, to live for. I was being selfish, and I can say that as a man.”
Offset also said he regrets that so much of his relationship with Cardi — with whom he shares daughters Kulture, 7, and Blossom, 13 months, and son Wave, 4 — played out in the public eye.
“I wish there wasn’t so much internet stuff going on. I got out of pocket a couple of times because you feel like you’re getting bullied,” he explained. “I used to never say nothing. I tried to recently say something just to like, try, to defend myself, because the narrative be nasty.”
Offset continued that if he could “rewrite the book,” the couple’s relationship would “would never have been public.”
“They’re watching everything. I was definitely not perfect in this situation. I made a lot of mistakes and a lot of things that I did wrong. She did things wrong,” he said.
The rapper said he is ready for the divorce to be finalized in order to redirect attention to his and Cardi’s respective music careers.
“I’m ready for it to be over. I feel like it’d be a louder story, then, what we love to do, which is music and art,” he said. “My thing is, I just feel like it shouldn’t be the story for both of us. That’s why I’m ready for it to get over with.”
Cardi’s representative confirmed she had filed for divorce from Offset back in August 2024. “It has been a long time coming and is amicable,” her rep told Us.
The “Magnet” rapper has since moved on with NFL star Stefon Diggs, whom she began dating in late 2024. In September, Cardi announced she is expecting her fourth child, her first with Diggs, 31.
