‘Nautilus’ Season 2? Renewal Status Revealed for AMC TV Show

AMC’s new fantasy drama Nautilus made a big splash, but will there be a second season?

The adventure series, which stars Shazad Latif as Captain Nemo, delivered the network’s biggest premiere in a year earlier this summer. According to the streamer, the debut pulled in 2.6 million viewers across Nielsen’s Live+3 day ratings, marking AMC’s highest premiere since The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

Of course, the big question fans have is whether AMC will bring the show back for Season 2.

There is no news regarding a cancellation or renewal of Nautilus Season 2 at AMC.

When asked about the possibility, star Shazad Latif stayed cautious about confirming anything.

“I’m merely an actor. I have no knowledge of these things, but I don’t know. I have no idea. I just hope that the audience enjoys it, and you never know,” he said to Cinema Blend.

At this time, AMC has not officially renewed Nautilus for another season. The show was originally developed for Disney+, before being picked up by Prime Video internationally and AMC for U.S. distribution. Any continuation would likely depend on both networks’ interest in producing more episodes.

In the Nautilus Season 1 finale, the Nautilus reaches the treasure, but it’s guarded by a band of Valkyrie warriors, and the crew attempts to dissolve the East India Mercantile Company for good. It airs tonight (Sunday, August 17) at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
