Misha Collins is in Christmas fire, but a negative one. The Castiel angel actor from ‘Supernatural,’ who is mostly known for this role, showed a pic of his burnt finger and admitted it was the least Christmasy gift of the year. Even in an online video, Collins had no shame in revealing the delicate injury and, he was still being ironic, he named it ‘Show me your Christmas burn! (That’s what I get for touching Rudolph’s nose…)’
The post was understood and showed sympathy reactions right away. The message was that cooking mishaps do not discriminate by the place where one celebrates Christmas and the time of the year. The public was divided between voicing concern and empathy since most people very quickly wanted to show what they had endured while cooking during Christmas.
Not even close, a netizen recounted their experience sharing a photo of the hand showing their very red skin, ‘Using oven mitts. How? Clearly, i should have been using hazmat mitts.’ A while later, someone told a story every one could feel: ‘Hit the top of the stove as I do every year… flipping, or poking, or moving something without an oven mitt.’ The users were very clear: Collins was not the only one having a hard time in the kitchen.
A very dedicated person even dared to offer help from overseas. ‘Return to Brazil and I will put a band-aid on you and I will take care of you,’ read the comment which, apart from highlighting the global reach of Collins’s fan base, was also a demonstration of their motherly instinct. Some were more likely to give humorous long-term perspectives. One netizen posted a picture of his scar and said, ‘I was burnt on Christmas Eve 1996. I beat you, Misha!’ It seems that some Xmas injuries are truly incalculable.

The whole incident turned into a mini-discussion. One internet user couldn’t help but inquire, ‘I have a needle…just a small jab to let it out?’ That was then followed by a witty discussion about the etiquette of blister-popping amongst the commenters. A user very strongly took Collins’s side saying, ‘No means no – friends don’t let friends pop burn blisters, yeah? My friendly vibes end as soon as I spot you wielding a sharp object.’ The sly look in the video of the actor, which was noticed by one viewer saying ‘I love the eyebrow thing at the end,’ seemed to agree with that no-pop rule.
Besides the scorches, the post raised typical ‘Supernatural’-flavored humor. Because of Collins’s role as an angel who was always getting punished both in heaven and on earth, a fan jokingly remarked, ‘Is that what happens when u poke the King of Hell? Ouchie.’ Another person, referring to his character’s recurring deaths, asked in Portuguese, ‘Misha quando vc vai pegar um papel que vc não morre no final?’ which translates into, ‘Misha when you will get a role where you don’t die at the end?’

The public’s response painted a picture of a community that felt a bit more connected thanks to the slight discomfort and the shared experiences of the holidays. Every story from oven racks to steam tables came and kept coming, changing Collins’s private injury into a ‘we’ve all been there’ reminder for the entire audience. It was the bright side of the situation that very rarely seen in the character of Misha Collins or any other star. The fact that he or she could be awkward and have domestic mishaps. Misha Collins’ unlucky Christmas burning, however, was the event that opened a flood of empathy and connection, showing that sometimes, even sharing a little discomfort can draw people nearer to one another. The actor has still not revealed the true cause of the wound, and as a result, the mystery of Rudolph’s nose—or perhaps a very hot baking tray—is still up in the air. In other news, Misha Collins announced an indefinite Disney+ cancellation recently. Fans also enjoyed when he donned his iconic Leviathan Castiel costume for a Halloween celebration. The actor’s life isn’t all burns, as he also celebrated an epic birthday surprise with his family and global fans.
