Megan McKenna by her latest dish has made run of everyone’s late-night cravings. The well-known person of the screen made a gigantic, saucy meatball sandwich on her own baked bread, and called it “the sandwich you always wanted.” The giant sandwich and video was part of a collaboration with Genius Foods, which showed her mom’s making meatballs and proper messy and energetic eating.

However, sometimes, only a good and messy sandwich can be the solution. Megan McKenna knows it. In a video displaying her craving at midnight, she produced what could be said to be a giant meal. She used frozen meatballs that her mother had cooked the day before and piled up on her Genius bread, putting crispy lettuce, a generous amount of cheese, and finally spicy crushed chilies. What could be more marvelous? A spread of “suraction mayo” for the simple reason that why not?

“This is my whole good one. The best,” she confidently declared during her collaboration’s bread show-off. The whole process turned out to be a very nice, completely unscripted mess that concluded with her overindulging while apologizing to her dog, London, for essentially taking his dinner. “These were London’s meatballs… It’s not being messed out. Sorry. I’m eating it,” she chuckled, completely in the snack.

Her fans’ reaction was immediate and very positive, and much attention went to the bread in particular. A user enthused, “I love that bread it’s my new go to bread thank you for making it,” causing the official brand account to interact and ask if the user was “team toast or sandwich.” Another commenter shared a similar shopping experience, saying, “Got this in Sainsbury’s last week and it lasted one day, was beautiful.” McKenna’s product seems to be a hot seller.

Clearly, no food post avoids a few questions from an audience that is already very eager to recreate the magic. One person asked a very practical question, “My mouth is watering! Are the meatballs cold? just for when I recreate this x,” signaling the real inspiration that the viewers were taking from the video. Another user focused on the need for, and a skill, to hold together such a gorgeously stuffed sandwich.

Then again, the comments weren’t all about food. The posted by McKenna’s aura was noted by many. “You really inspire me to improve with my meal presentations,” one went, while another gave her insight saying, “You’re an attitude around food is so positive and helpful. Really encouraging and inspiring battling my eating disorder x.” These comments are proof that her impact is more than just a good recipe.

However, with such a daring creation, some light-hearted critique was inevitable. One person noticed the buttering technique and made a joke by saying, “Look lush, except the blobs of butter, I like to spread it all over right to the edges.” Another person merely commented, “You should’ve toasted your bread”, which implies that even in the world of huge sandwiches personal taste will always come first.

The most funny response was perhaps from a user who made an amusing connection to the popular culture. They said, “Monica could NEVER!!!! Now THAT is a sandwich worthy of a Ross Gellar RAGE,” which takes us to the famous “Moist Maker” Thanksgiving sandwich from the TV show ‘Friends’. This is indeed a very high compliment.

High engagement levels with questions on her mother’s meatball recipe, where to get the bread in Northern Ireland, etc. confirm that McKenna has undoubtedly managed to tap into the universal language of comfort food. She wrapped up her video by saying, “Sometimes you just need a good feeling in a sandwich,” and judging from the audience’s reaction, they are feeling it. Megan McKenna’s latest post is like a food promotion intertwined with authentic and relatable content, and it shows that a great sandwich can bring people together. Her son Landon is often part of her content, and she recently shared a story about a cozy date night with a homemade feast. She also has a talent for transforming leftovers into gourmet dinners, and Landon often steals the show during their family meals.
