Mark Sanchez is speaking out for the first time since the violent incident in Indianapolis, where he was stabbed after allegedly attacking another man.
The 38-year-old former NFL player was released from the hospital on Sunday (October 12) and then booked into, and then released, from Marion County Jail.
Mark was allegedly the aggressor in a violent incident that happened, leading to his arrest while in the hospital. He allegedly assaulted a 69-year-old delivery driver while in an alley by a bar and then the man stabbed him in response. The fight reportedly broke out over a parking spot. The former football player is now facing a Level 5 battery charge. The punishment for that type of charge is one to six years in jail.

While being released from jail on Sunday, Mark spoke to reporter Max Lewis of Fox59 News and CBS 4 Indy.
“Right now I’m just focused on my recovery,” Mark said. “I just wanted to thank the first responders, Eskenazi Hospital…and I just want to thank Dr. [Lindsey] Mossler, the surgeon. She saved my life, so I’m grateful for that.”
Mark said he’s “recovering slowly. It’s a long process.”
Last week, Mark‘s family released a statement after the incident.
