Amanda Seyfried is a super trouper for a threequel.
The Emmy winner weighed in on whether a third installment to the Mamma Mia! franchise is on its way.
“It is, yes,” Amanda told Deadline Sept. 8 while attending the Toronto International Film Festival, before cautiously adding, “I think.”
The 39-year-old also addressed the willingness of fellow cast members like Meryl Streep, Christine Baranski, Pierce Brosnan and Stellan Skarsgård to participate in another installment of the ABBA jukebox musical.
“We all said, ‘Yeah, definitely,’” she continued. “It’s our way of marketing and getting support. Big movies like that are all about studio timing.”
In fact, Amanda said that the timing of 2018’s Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again was directly connected to Wicked, which ultimately premiered in 2024 with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.
“I remember they did Mamma Mia! 2 instead of Wicked,” the Mean Girls alum explained. “They could only do one big movie at that time, so we ended up slotting into that. So, it’s about silly things like that.”
