With the brand-new single “Metele” featuring Cheery, Lil Pump has been unleashed upon the world with a fair amount of fanfare. On Instagram, the rapper said: “…Me gustan las chicas que no tienen papá,” thanking the fans for bearing. He then praised them while instructing them to paste the link of the song to his bio.

The video transcript was a revolting mess in its mix of Spanish and gibberish, such as: “Give it to her and don’t stop in a second without banning when approaching” and “Always gives you the pud theority.” Classic Lil Pump: vulgar, crude, and filled with ad-libs.
Reactions were split. “Lil Pump from Gucci Gang died in 2019,” one fan said without hesitation, implying the artist’s moment of glory had long passed. Another humorously mocked, “Same ad-libs but Latino,” taking a jab at the artist’s repetitive flow.
The shadows descended: “This dude has consumed so much he just does nonsense now,” another fan cried, alluding to his well-known substance-abuse history. “Not the baby oil bruh,” said another, referring to the imagery of the video and nothing more.

Coming from a Spanish-speaking fan, by far the cruellest comment was: “Damn, what a piece of crap you’ve become,” perfectly summarizing the contempt some feel for Pump’s latest works.
The ride for Lil Pump has been a rollercoaster ever since that 2017 breakout hit “Gucci Gang.” Staying on charts with carefree meme-worthy bangers was the phase the rapper once had, but the past few years seem to have been filled with lots of legal bouts, label disputes, and erratic behavior. Then comes “Metele,” just another one-leg-half-step ahead of a second cooldown period for the rapper, with some in the fandom just along for the chaos and others mourning that the magic is gone.
Whether it’s going to pull out his career, or just another dark and dusty sketch on Lil Pump’s turbulent history, we’ll find out at some point.
