Leva Bonaparte’s very brief post was enough to raise the spirits of co-star Venita Aspen, who is one of her companions from the show ‘Southern Charm.’ The post saying ‘you know what’s up’ was interpreted as a sign of togetherness amidst the ongoing conflicts of the show.

Leva Bonaparte took a few seconds of her time to send a short message on social media that indirectly pointed to Venita Aspen, one of her co-stars. The message, which also contained a fist emoji and the abbreviation ‘LYKYK’ (if you know, you know), was a very transparent reference to the main topics of the current season. It was not particularly an explanation but rather a confirmation, a sign to their common audience that the tensions between the characters in the show that are portrayed are in fact very well understood.

The response came quickly and it was mostly supportive of Venita. One user referred to Venita as ‘a chocolate Queen in the south’ and he was happy about her, which was a feeling that a lot of others shared soon afterwards. Another user pointed out the meaning of Leva’s act; he remarked, ‘Leva is there for Venita like a real sister.’ This theme of loyalty and sisterhood was very obvious in the replies, so much so that many were even telling their trust and admiration for Venita directly.

One of the positive comments had a suggestion that was a little bit more humorous. One person came up with a new reality show plot and he told, ‘@venitaaspen @ciaramiller_ need a dating show (not for them) but rather a boot camp for men to get it together! (Special forces of etiquette with Ventia but splash Ciara swag).’ The idea, combining Venita’s elegant looks with co-star Ciara Miller’s charisma, made the audience see a link with characters over the conflict.

However, there were also some signs of dissatisfaction in the comments. One user made reference to a past reality show, where Leva was the main character, and said, ‘I wish you had this much energy calling out some of the Shah’s cast.’ This comment brings into focus the fact that the audience has to carry with them the past history of the TV personality when showing their expectations and comparing their behavior between the different franchises.

Nonetheless, the majority of the comments expressed thanks to both actresses. One fan articulated the general view that the interrelations of Leva and Venita are the most, and very exciting, part of the current ‘Southern Charm’ plot, commenting: ‘y’all 100% make the show’. Another fan just exclaimed, ‘SHE IS THAT GIRL’, thus affirming Venita’s sparkling character.

Leva Bonaparte’s post, although very concise, managed to bring around the audience a common understanding. It did not explain but rather made a knowing wink, a tactic that sometimes mobilizes the fanbase even stronger than a long declaration. In the world of reality television where every person is watching through the lens of a ‘war of nerves’, such a move is very loud and clear. It confirms the alliances for the home audience and, perhaps, is meant to be a signal to the cast as well. The reception of this message indicates that it was precisely as meant. Leva recently announced a new project that highlights her entrepreneurial spirit. Additionally, Naomie Olindo, another ‘Southern Charm’ alum, has been sharing her own festive updates.
