Jumping straight in, gardening is pretty much there for the taking, and she is not looking back anymore. In her excitement, the influencer had posted a sweeping view of the green sanctuary in full bloom, captioned: ‘Gardening is slowly becoming my whole personality, and I am not mad about it. Here’s what I am going to replant/plant more of next year.’ And then, as with any gardening post, it was taken over by hordes of fellow gardening enthusiasts buzzing about tips, admiring, and generally excited over produce from their own homes.

Lane’s garden does look like a thriving place, but there is no specific word on what precisely she is growing. However, a simple picture sent her followers scrambling with comments ranging from, ‘Try Sungold tomatoes! A yellow, sweet variety like a cherry tomato in size! Our fave!’ to another who said, ‘We cook our green beans in water with a chicken bouillon cube. Adds good flavor if you let them simmer!’ Obviously, Lane’s post nicked a nerve with people as passionate about growing their own food as she is.

The comments also came to reveal that Lane is hardly alone in working to ensuring her new-found love for gardening. One follower said: ‘Something about being a new mom has awakened my inner earth mother. We started small this year, two different cherry tomatoes, zucchini, some herbs. I’ve become pretty obsessed and can’t wait until next year, I think I’ll go pretty nuts.’ These feelings seemingly hit a few, making a picturesque potential for gardening to become a very personal and rewarding pursuit, especially when shared with friends or family.

Others have been simply awestruck by the brilliance of Lane’s garden. “Your veggie garden is a dream of mine,” one gushed. “Your garden is fantastically beautiful,” said another. Compliments keep pouring; they want Lane to spill all her secrets, from her daily routine to must-have tools. “Can you link your must-haves for gardening??” one inquisitive follower asked, while another moped, “I wish I had a green thumb. I love your garden.”

While practical advice was being passed about and bird chatter of adulation went on, all of these comments helped build the community. “It is my whole personality, so I made an Instagram about it,” chimed in another, demonstrating just how all-consuming (and Instagram-worthy) gardening can be. Adding to the woes was another, “Currently in my snap pea and wannabe pumpkin era-to hoping next year I get more than the squirrels.”

They also went into discussions about sustainability and eco-friendly gardening. “Native plants are an incredible addition and MUCH needed in every yard/garden!” emended one follower. Another added, “Plant milkweed for some amazing butterflies!” This shall be how gardening will help you support the local ecosystem.

One of the most relate-able comments was: “Once you grow your own tomatoes, you can never buy them from the store again!” I believe a lot of home gardeners would side with this statement-I mean, home-grown flavor literally cannot be replaced by a store brand!

Whether it be sharing in the bliss of growing one’s own food with the lonely, keeping plants alive, or simply pitching cool tips to another plant nerd, Lane’s post encapsulates what has drawn so many people into gardening. And, judging by the comments, this lady definitely seems to be one in a million crazed gardeners.
