In the clip, the actress was full of life and literally made every step of the process very clear while being very enthusiastic. She combined two parts of cold espresso with three parts of Kahlua and two parts of vodka. The most important ingredient for the season was a pumpkin spice mix which she bought from the store and then added a pinch of cinnamon. After shaking the combination with ice, she demonstrated the sugar and cinnamon rimming of her selected ‘Nicanora’ glass that would make the drink even more festive. She called the drink a ‘really nice seasonal spin on a classic,’ and after tasting it, she gave it an enormous thumbs-up.
The comment section was soon filled with positive remarks. One of the commenters wrote, ‘Excellent choice. You are the best,’ and that was the main idea of approval voiced in the comments. Another comment, initially in Spanish, got translated to, ‘Madam, I love you with all my heart,’ which was an indication of Prepon’s worldwide popularity. An Italian fan appreciated her stylishness in the comments claiming, ‘Sweater is beautiful, Laura you are rock.’
However, there was one comment which showed concern for the actress’ health. One user was really worried about her health and wrote, ‘I’m very concerned about your veins, you look very underweight. I know you had a problem with bulimia in the past and I hope you are fine and also that you will ask for help if you need it.’ This comment again showed how sometimes a personal post can make a celebrity’s well-being a matter of public debate.
Most of the followers were more involved with the process of making the cocktail. One user posed a practical question, ‘What’s the pumpkin spice mix you used?’ and another one very nicely suggested shaking the mixture longer before pouring it into the glass, saying, ‘I love you, but I would suggest shaking it WAY more and pouring it quickly to get that signature froth and the right mouthfeel. Personally, I think that’s what makes it! can’t wait to try a pumpkin version, thanks for the idea.’ This can be taken as an example of how her content stimulates others to share their own expertise.
A funny remark lightened the mood, saying, ‘It would have been hilarious if you tasted it and said, “Oh, that’s not good.” Haha.’ At the same time, a Korean follower expressed empathy through their comment, which gets translated to, ‘Martini. I think I’ve probably underestimated the number of people abroad making cocktails at home. I can’t drink due to health reasons ㅠ😂 but it still looks so beautiful and delicious! ❤️.’ This indicates how widespread and inclusive the discussion created by her post was, plus the fact that it was very inclusive.
Besides the drink, Prepon’s choice of clothing also attracted attention. One user commented, ‘Love the shirt Journey raised on radio,’ while another one said, ‘Omg I need that tee!!’ This proves that the entire presentation of a celebrity—from their recipe to their outfit—becomes part of the fan engagement. She also recently shared her family’s secret homemade fall potpourri recipe.
