Laura Prepon was in search of an occasion and came up with her outfit choice problem. Thus, she did the same as most of us do when faced with such a dilemma—-going through her own photo collection. The result was a great and very candid video of her going through the very best and sometimes the most ridiculous moments of her fashion career.
She started with a nice memory, the first Met Gala the couple attended together, Laura and her husband, Ben Foster, who is called ‘Tofer’. “I was very much into this ethereal vibe and added really long red extensions in my hair, and did a little mermaid hair,” she said. Laura even thinks she might have the white purse from that night.
An empire waist gown was also among the most beautiful and bright memories, and she wore it to the SAG Awards. The night was especially noteworthy because the cast of ‘Orange Is the New Black’ took home the award for Best Ensemble. “They asked me to do the acceptance speech,” she recounted. “It was just like the best night ever. We had so much fun.”
An extremely beautiful look was a Christian Siriano gown she wore on the red carpet when she was pregnant with her son. “Christian is also very happy with how this look turned out,” she said. “Just very beautiful and shaping. And then there is a little baby bump. It’s just a really, really nice moment.”
There were also sharp critiques on some looks. Laura was incredibly funny in her critique of one of the pictures that she says ‘follows’ her from Wikipedia and she insists that it is “not even looking like me anymore.” “First of all, I have a spray tan; look, I’m not judging, I love a spray tan, but in this particular moment, I just went a little bit overboard the spray tan,” she said and then she appealed the public: “If anyone knows how to change a Wikipedia photo, please, let me know.”
She even talked about a green celery dress that she wore during a heat wave at the Emmy Awards and criticized it saying, “I looked like a sea monster.” “The fabric was so heavy and uncomfortable that it created a trap for my sweat. Such a fashion blunder, to say the least,” she concluded.
Possibly the most recognized outfit was the ‘garbage bag’ dress which her character Alex Vause wore in the series ‘Orange Is the New Black.’ She recounted the struggle of making a trash bag look chic. “We were pretty much trying to sculpt the trash bag so it would look somewhat like it has an hourglass figure,” she joked. The look became so popular that people started to do it for Halloween. “It was so much fun seeing everyone in the trash bag costume. It was also the easiest Halloween costume ever!”
The video post attracted very quick and plentiful interactions from the audience, who shared their most memorable moments and also reconciled with her confessions.
The vast majority of the followers commented and expressed their strong nostalgia and love towards the ‘That ’70s Show’ series, which she was a part of. One viewer confessed, “That 70’s Show is totally my comfort show. The first five seasons of it are pure gold!” This was echoed by another one who said, “I like all characters but I enjoy the funny moments the most… You all did a great job on That 70’s Show. It’s one of my favorites.” The series still remains a big and beloved part of her legacy.
Her concern about the Wikipedia photo was strongly related to public figures, especially those in the same profession. A weathergirl, Ginger Zee, replied, “Why can’t we change wiki photos??? It’s crazy! And when it has changed, it always goes back to a weird one of me too! Hmmm” It looks like this is a common problem and a shared irritation among the stars.
The way she pronounced “empire waist” was noticed by one user who commented, “I can’t tell you how comforting it is to know that somebody uses the term, empire waist, and pronounces it correctly.” Small comforts.
The everlasting garbage bag dress was also referred to, with one user claiming in Portuguese, “I found the garbage bag a charm,” to which others humorously concurred that compared to some modern fashion, a garbage bag might just be the best option.

Laura Prepon’s retrospective of her fashion history was rather more than just a fashion recap; it was a relatable, humorous, and endearing glimpse into the life of an actress who does not take herself too seriously. Glittering award ceremonies to the most simple, soft, pastel-colored t-shirts of her directing debut, she celebrated the whole arc of her journey, showing that sometimes the most unforgettable looks are the ones that come with the best stories. Her trait of self-mockery, paired with the ability to savor every single moment, be it good or bad, is what eventually makes her style truly iconic. Laura Prepon also recently shared a heartwarming fan expo experience and revealed her secret for sneaking veggies into her kids’ breakfasts. She also enjoyed a magical Disneyland family trip and shared a heartwarming mommy-daughter blowout moment.
