“She was my tenant at Yale, I was her landlord, because she was an undergraduate and I was a graduate student,” Kate told People.
The Silence of the Lambs star studied African-American Literature at Yale in 1980 and graduated magna cum laude in 1985. Before that, she had earned her first Oscar nomination for her role in Taxi Driver opposite of Robert De Niro.
“She was the most incredible child actor that has ever existed — and she’s got an extraordinary career,” said the 68-year-old Grey’s Anatomy alum.
