Justin Baldoni Says He Never Read NYT Article That He Launched $250 Million Lawsuit Over

Justin Baldoni filed a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times after the newspaper wrote an article about Blake Lively‘s California Civil Rights Department complaint against him… but he says he has never read the article.

The article detailed Blake‘s allegations against Justin, accusing him of orchestrating a smear campaign against her after she filed a sexual harassment claim during filming of It Ends With Us.

Justin and his team said that the claims in the NYT article were “categorically false and easily disproven,” but their lawsuit was dismissed in June.

“The Times had no obvious motive to favor Lively’s version of events,” the judge ruled.

Blake is still moving forward with her lawsuit against Justin and he sat down for a deposition in October in which he was asked about the New York Times article.

“My testimony is that this lawsuit and The New York Times article and the CRD complaint was the first that I had heard of many of these allegations that evidently I was at or a part of, which I completely disagree with whether or not they happened,” Justin said in the deposition, which has been posted online (via Buzzfeed).

Justin was asked if he read the article and he replied, “Never personally read it, no…I did not personally sit down to read it… I have personal firsthand knowledge from my attorneys giving me point by point all that was in the article.”

Blake‘s lawyers have slammed a claim about her being a “bully.”
