A collection of comedy greats are going all out for Broadway.
PEOPLE can exclusively reveal that Jon Stewart, Heidi Gardner, Ray Romano, Sarah Silverman and a lineup of humor heavyweights will star in All Out: Comedy About Ambition, a new play from short story scribe Simon Rich that begins performances on Friday, Dec. 12 at the Nederlander Theatre in New York City.
The piece is a companion to Rich’s All In: Comedy About Love, which was a runaway hit on the boards last season. Like that production, a star-studded cast of some of the funniest people on earth will lead this play, rotating in groups of four over a 12-week limited run.
They’ll read Rich’s laugh-out-loud stories — this time tackling ambition, ego, envy, greed, and as an official release jokes, “basically just New Yorkers in general.”

In addition, All Out will feature original music performed by soul-pop band Lawrence for all performances. The eight-piece group is led by sibling duo Clyde and Gracie Lawrence, who announced the play’s cast in a video PEOPLE can debut exclusively.
“In between stories, our whole band Lawrence will be be performing our original songs,” said Clyde in the clip, which parodies an ’80s workplace PSA. “And it’s my first Broadway show!”
“And, in case Forbes 30 Under 30 is watching, it’s my third!” jokes Gracie, a Tony Award nominee last seen on the boards in Just In Time.

As for the stars who will join them on stage, the cast includes:
Stewart, Gardner, Romano and Silverman will all be making their Broadway debuts in All Out, as well Andre, Jacobson, Schwartz, Mantzoukas, Robinson and Braun.
This is also the first major project for Gardner announced since her surprising exit from Saturday Night Live was announced in August. She was on the hit NBC comedy series for eight seasons.
All Out will reunite Gardner with SNL producer Lorne Michaels, who produces here alongside Seaview and Micah Frank and Caroline Maroney (on behalf of Broadway Video).
Directed will come from Alex Timbers, the Tony winner behind Moulin Rouge! The Musical and last season’s All In.
Additional casting for All Out is expected to be announced soon.
Tickets will go on sale on Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. ET.
