In a recent interview with Howard Stern, Jennifer Lopez expressed her happiness about what she called the ‘best endorsement ever’. The multi-talented Lopez connected with the audience of a renowned radio show to promote her new movie, ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’, and took the liberty to share part of the conversation with the host, Howard Stern, who unexpectedly gave the movie a high and favorable rating. Lopez was grateful for the confirmation and was still more convincing in her message that the movie was worth the trip to the theaters, which is still being shown.

The video features Jennifer Lopez and Howard Stern engaging in an excessively complimentary interchange regarding ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman.’ Stern confesses that he was very hesitant initially and even stated “I almost wasn’t gonna go see it.” He admits he never thought he’d be in the mood for a ‘musical theater person,’ besides, he had no clue what the film was based on. In any case, after viewing it, his opinion was completely altered. He called the experience ‘riveting’ and ‘fantastic’ and not only lauded Lopez’s performance but the entire production also. “I raved about it,” Stern emphasized, pointing out the musical parts and Lopez’s stunning transformation for the role.

The conversation smoothly flowed to the topic of the artist’s physical transformations for the character. She talked about how big a change it would be to go platinum blonde, something she was unsure about initially. “I did try to wear wigs sometimes and they almost always looked so awful on my skin color,” Lopez said. The transformation was so significant that all her presentations had to be altered. She even said that her makeup, lip color, and even her physical posture had to be changed to be ‘a different person’ to her audience anyway. Her makeup artist, Scott Barnes, was having her foundation mixed with more pink tones to match the drastic color change in hair.

Lopez seemed to be really moved by Stern’s kind and enthusiastic talk. “This is like the best endorsement I’ve ever had,” she said to him, acknowledging that he is known to be very frank. She then expressed her hope that his good word would pull more people to the cinemas to see the movie, “I hope they go see it. I really do. It was that good.” This film is a new take on the story, which is originally a novel by Manuel Puig from the 1970s, that later on, won an Oscar for the film version in the 1980s and a Tony for a Broadway musical.

The fans of Jennifer Lopez gave an extremely positive response and many of them were already in agreement with Stern regarding the film. One fan expressed, “You’re precious! Kiss of the spider woman is everything I loved every minute,” which less or more indicated the attitude of the vibrant ones who had already watched the film and shared this comment. An anonymous fan just said, “The movie was fantastic,” and added a spider and a black heart emojis to the statement. Among the fans, there were some who had already planned to go and see the movie, for instance, one stated, “I’m going to go see it. I’m looking forward to it,” and another wrote down his intention to watch it during an international trip, “And I can’t wait to see it in theaters here in Italy.”

The positive response was not limited to the viewers but the performance of the cast was also mentioned. One person commented on the movie and suggested going to see it more than once as he said, “She is outstanding in the movie and so are Tonatiuh and Diego Luna. I’m going again,” which pointed to the film’s strong rewatchable nature. The audience’s sense of pride in their favorite was pretty evident and their support was shown in such comments as, “You are great baby! IM SO PROUD OF YOU” which overwhelmed the comments section. Still, not all the comments were only praises for the film’s supreme qualities. A few users reminisced the history of the interview, one of them pointed the irony in Stern’s past comments about the actress being granted talking privileges now. The observer noted, “If you’re a deep listener of Howard then you know that he talked so much shit about her over the years and now’s she a guest,” thus insinuating a complicated backstory which added another layer to the interaction.

Another user’s remark dealt with the film’s box office future less optimistically, putting it bluntly, “And no one is going to see it,” though this was just a minority opinion among the favorable comments. One person even questioned the choice of the show based on past events, asking, “Why would you do his show after what he did and said when Selena was killed?” This comment referred to a deeper, more sensitive background and reminded the public that celebrity interviews often take place against a backdrop of prior controversies and public memory. The few dissenting voices notwithstanding, the general atmosphere was one of celebration for Lopez’s career milestone and the strong critical reception for ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman.’ The interview did manage to create a lot of buzz and personal endorsements, which the star obviously appreciated a lot. Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming Abu Dhabi show has also been generating significant excitement among her international fans. Additionally, Megyn Kelly recently fired back at Kerstin Emhoff over comments made about J.Lo.
