During the appearance, he was being questioned about the Department of Justice, Donald Trump and a bribery scandal involving border czar Tom Homan.
In an undercover operation in 2024, the FBI allegedly recorded Tom Homan accepting $50,000 in cash after suggesting to the agents, who were posing as business executives, that he could win government contracts under a second Trump administration, via MSNBC.
George questioned the Vice President about the alleged bribery, with JD saying that he “did not take a bribe,” but may have taken $50,000 from agents for legitimate reasons.

“Is it illegal to take a payment for doing services? The FBI has not prosecuted him. I’ve never seen any evidence that he’s engaged in criminal wrongdoing. Nobody has accused Tom of committing a crime, even the far-left media like yourself. So I’m actually not sure what the precise question is,” Vance said.
He accused George of going down a “weird left-wing rabbit hole,” and said they were focused on a “bogus story” instead of focusing on the struggling country due to the government shutdown.
“It’s not a weird left-wing rabbit hole. I didn’t insinuate anything. I asked you whether Tom Homan accepted $50k as was heard on an audio tape recorded by the FBI in September 2024. And you did not answer the question. Thank you for your time,” George said.
