Ice Cube is using the occasion of the recent announcement of the Truth To Power Tour to promise the ultimate career retrospective-from N.W.A., all the way down to his well-known solo hits. The rap icon announced this via Instagram, pairing the words with a blazing hot concert photo filled to the brim with West Coast pride. Cube towering over the stage with one hand holding the micros and bathed in a mist of blue and orange lights stood silhouetted against palm trees. The front crowd was equally gaited by one of those creators of rap that has spent decades building it.

Almost instantaneous were reactions to the announcement, with people going crazy looking up dates and lamenting at the absence of certain cities. Somebody already commented that, “I don’t see Detroit.” Another person said, “Why’d you cancel New York? I was excited!” International souls were just as expressive about it: “When are you bringing the attitude to Europe?” and “Come to Brisbane this time!”
An entirely different species of comment came from a rant on “reptilians and alien races” in one case, and in another, a lengthy theological discourse about Prophet Muhammad’s real or alleged esoteric influences that was completely out of context. Regardless, chaos didn’t bury Cube’s name: “The real GOAT has to be Ice Cube now,” said one fan. “Albums, tours, Big 3, movies—full hustle for over 30 years!”
Aside from technical speak about tour brackets, more must have been personal anecdotes that really made the mark. One parent managed to swing floor seats for his son, who just so happened to turn 14 this year (a very good year) and proudly announced Cube as the (admittedly difficult to dispute) fave rapper of his kid! A little bitter-sweet fun gave fans the chance to reminisce about hanging in the “Straight Outta Compton” days and begging Cube to come back to Brazil.
Cube’s caption is at least in part drawing taxpayers to the prospect of an uncensored runthrough: “every era, every hit.” Judging from the crowd energy in that official tour photo, the Truth To Power Tour might well be the career victory lap he deserves. From fledging GOAT debates to dodging conspiracy theories, Cube surely knows how to stir the pot. Streets listen!

Also, it was noted that O’Shea Jackson Jr. is following closely in his father’s footsteps in the entertainment industry, adding to the family’s legacy.
