Also in talks to star is Jack O’Connell as Larry Lamb, who Rupert hired to head The Sun in 1969. This will reunite Jack and Danny, who previously worked together on the movie 28 Years Later, and the upcoming 28 Years Later: Bone Temple, which Danny is producing.
Per Deadline, the movie would be based on the James Graham play, following “Murdoch’s struggling newspaper, The Sun, as he intends to make it a must-read news source and hires Lamb to run the paper. The purchase of the paper would start a long-standing rivalry between The Sun and The Mirror, leading to the rise of the British tabloids as we know them.”
James Graham also adapted the screenplay and filming is looking to start in October.
