Gambler Wins Over $84K After Betting 88 Cents on Florida Slot Machine

One lucky gambler turned a handful of change into over $84,000 while playing slots at a popular casino in Tampa, Fla.

“We have a winner!!” Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa wrote on Facebook Oct. 8 “This lucky guest placed a $0.88 bet on this Jade Wind machine and WON $84,758.24.”

In the comments, fellow gamblers and onlookers congratulated the stranger on their stroke of luck — and some joked about helping them win.

“Congratulations to the winner. It’s nice to see people win on small bets,” one user wrote, while another quipped, “Good for the winner! I contributed a lot to that when I was over there Monday.”

While this lucky gambler hit the jackpot, Hard Rock Seminole assured visitors that there are still opportunities to test their own luck. In fact, 28 of the casino’s linked progressive slot machines have a jackpot that has surpassed $2 million and continues “climbing at a rate of $4,600 or more per day,” according to an Oct. 8 news release.

The Dragon Link has remained a top draw for players since its July 2021 launch at the casino. It includes a $25 minimum bet and a $2,500 maximum bet. According to Aristocrat Gaming, the current record for single-site linked progressive Dragon Link slot machines is $2.8 million.
