Denise Welch confessed that she thought Australian pop star Troye Sivan was just ‘some lad at the BBQ’ after fans spotted him in her snaps from Charli XCX’s wedding.
Charli, 32, married with The 1975’s George Daniel, 35, for the second time, in a stunning ceremony in Sicily last month with the Loose Women presenter, 67, in attendance with her son and band frontman Matty Healy.
Sharing a fun montage of photos to Instagram, which fans branded ‘iconic’ Denise joined Troye for a photo, but later admitted she had no idea who he was.
Speaking about the day while attending the Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, she told Metro she had the ‘most wonderful time.’
Denise added: ‘It was quite exciting for me to post pictures of lovely people that I’d met at the BBQ. One of those turned out to be Troye Sivan.
‘All these really cool people I didn’t know at the time until my Instagram blew up.’

She continued: ‘It was testament to Charli and George just how lovely and relaxed it was. It was great, I’m very happy for them.’
Denise shared clips and photos after attending the island ceremony with her husband Lincoln Townley, her son Matty and his fiancée Gabbriette Bechtel.
She certainly made the most of her chance to mingle with the stars’ posing for an array of selfies and videos during the trip.
Many showed her alongside her son Matty, who is George’s bandmate in The 1975, with Denise dressed in a stylish black jumpsuit for the evening party.
The guests also enjoyed a luxurious yacht day following the wedding ceremony, with Denise sharing a video of herself and newlywed Charli preparing to board the boat.
Denise was also joined by her ex-husband Tim Healy, and her younger son Louis, 24, to celebrate Charli and George’s nuptials.
Posting the montage on Instagram, she captioned the post: ‘All the feels. #georgeandcharli Sicily 2025. That’s amore.’
Last week Charli herself shared a behind-the-scenes look at her big day, and in typical party girl fashion, the nuptials were a raucous affair – with Charli taking to the DJ decks in her lingerie.

Matty and Gabriette were in charge of the DJ decks at Charli and George’s wedding reception, following the intimate ceremony
As she and The 1975 drummer shared their vows, Charli showed off her edgy sense of style in a Grecian-inspired bridal look.
The newlyweds looked emotional as they said ‘I do’ all over again and exchanged rings in front of their loved ones.
The bride’s draped white dress boasted a dramatically long train, which flowed behind her as she walked down the aisle, and was completely sheer, revealing a figure-hugging corset underneath.
And in true form for the Guess hitmaker, Charli – whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison – ensured her white underwear was on full display.
George cut a dashing figure by her side in a relaxed taupe suit and oversized silk shirt underneath, left partially unbuttoned to display his chain necklaces.
The couple appeared deeply moved during the intimate ceremony, alternating between laughing, crying and holding hands, as they took turns reading out their vows.
The romantic ceremony took place on a rocky outcrop right next to the idyllic sea, with rows of chairs laid out in front of an altar adorned with sprigs of eucalyptus leaves and baby’s breath.
Charli and George were the picture of love and devotion, as they shared a passionate kiss at the altar after becoming husband and wife for the second time.
As they walked back down the aisle to applause and confetti from the attendees, Matty could be seen getting to his feet to cheer them on.
In true musician style, after the heartfelt service Charli and George wasted no time in getting into the celebrations with their guests.

They were seen letting loose to the sounds of a live band, dancing and laughing while cocktails and drinks flowed.
Forgoing the moody tones of The 1975 or the electric rave style of Brat, Charli and George opted for a traditional folk band, complete with an accordion, tambourine and harmonica.
Popping bottles of fizz, the pair poured out a champagne tower for the guests to enjoy, unable to resist another smooch.
And guests were also seen sipping on the classic Italian party staple of Aperol Spritz as they laughed and danced in the sun.
Charli and George were the picture of wedded bliss as the two chart-topping stars enjoyed an intimate moment alone before joining the fun-filled reception.
And displaying their shared love of music, the pair’s seating chart revealed their wedding table names were all the titles of their favourite songs.
These included Sweet Jane by The Velvet Underground, Billy Ocean’s Loverboy, Cut the Cake by Average White Band, The Japanese House’s Saw You in a Dream and the controversial track Lemon Incest by Serge and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
