DDG dropped into Instagram a funny clip that gave an awkward and chaotic look at the show’s audition process that was surely good for some very awkward pickup lines uttered under breath from the audience, some accidental innuendos, and a girl dancing her booty off saying, “I love shaking my ass and I love my DDG.”

The Detroit native announced live tapings to take place in Atlanta and Los Angeles for the viral hit, streaming exclusively on Twitch. Yet the name, which is supposed to be a play on hip-hop slang for romantic partners, “ball,” was not appreciated by everyone, with one commenter snarking, “Made a game show off a dead slang phrase,” to which a mini-debate erupted over whether it was really dead.
Many contestants aired their disappointment with the Houston auditions, with one disappointedly writing, “I’m ngl I’m disappointed in Houston, I did not see any BAD SHIT from da city.” Others rushed to defend the talent pool, claiming “there were multiple good looking women more than 2.” But the one that will live forever could be the one where an anonymous candidate kept some pizza slices hidden away in her bra, with a watcher joking, “The pizza in my bra got me straight eliminated.”
DDG’s playful affected distinguished much of the banter between him and the contestants that even included this surreally charming moment where he kept calling one contestant “Wilson.” The romantic side of DDG surfaced a little when the contestant asked, “Why you love me?”; fans declared him “such a lover boy at heart.” Others didn’t like it. One condemned the show for sexualizing the youth, with a warning: “Young people start seeking him. Stop being oversexual this disgusting.”
One key thing in the clip: the absence of DDG’s current lady, India Love – giving even more fuel to the speculation on the couple’s standing since he himself referred to her as “my ball.” No response came when a fan (@ddg? I thought @indialove was your ball bro?) directly called out this omission.

Between pizza bras, accidental ass-shaking, and philosophical debates about what that even is anymore with dating slang, DDG’s post is disorderly temptation for a wild new reality show. Depending on who you ask, it might be genius satire or just plain down-goofy, but with live shows hitting Atlanta and Los Angeles this weekend, viewers won’t have much time in their hands to spare to even make a judgment of their own-interest.
