  • Channing Tatum is responding to Jax Taylor’s years-long claim that the pair were once roommates
  • Taylor previously said they lived together in a New York model apartment in the early 2000s
  • Tatum is currently promoting his Marvel role in Avengers: Doomsday, while Taylor focuses on sobriety and co-parenting

Channing Tatum doesn’t seem to have the same roommate recollections as Jax Taylor.

During an Oct. 6 episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, the Blink Twice star, 45, responded to the reported history from the Vanderpump Rules alum, 46, who claimed the two of them were roommates when Taylor first moved to New York City.

“Absolutely not,” said Tatum. “I don’t think I ever roommated with him.”

The actor did mention that at the time, when his career was starting, he lived with several models. However, he did not recall Taylor being one of them.

“They’ll throw you in a model house that has just like a bed,” explained Tatum. “I got kicked out of my first model house. I got in a fight with one of the guys.”

Taylor has not yet responded to Tatum’s recollections of the roommate situation.

The story of the two stars rooming together made headlines back in 2013 when the reality star appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Taylor made the claim again in a 2023 interview with Rolling Stone

He recalled moving from Miami to New York in 2002 for his modeling career and signing with Ford Models, previously named Ford Modeling Agency.

“Those agencies had apartments for models that were coming into town. They’re basically like dorm rooms with bunk beds. A tiny room with bunk beds and a bathroom,” said Taylor. “Channing was one of six guys in our room.”

Taylor noted that Tatum “got famous real quick” and did a Mountain Dew commercial that launched his on-camera career.

Taylor, who starred in two seasons of the Vanderpump Rules spinoff The Valley, announced in July that he wouldn’t be appearing in the third season of the hit reality show.

“Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and [my] coparenting relationship,” he said at the time. “Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz.”

Taylor shares his son, Cruz, 4, with his ex-wife and former co-star of Vanderpump Rules and The Valley, Brittany Cartwright, 36. The former couple tied the knot back in 2019.

Tatum has been busy promoting his next movie, Roofman, which hits theaters on Oct. 10. He’s also slated to play the X-Men character Gambit again in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, which opens on Dec. 18, 2026. Tatum previously played the character in Deadpool & Wolverine.

“[Marvel] set a bar for themselves [with] every movie, and they beat it every single movie,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “And I can tell you this, as I was reading it, I was like ‘No. What? How are they going to do this? I don’t understand how they’re going to do this.’ ”

“I don’t know how to describe it to you,” he continued. “It’s going to make your brains ooze out of your ears.”
