The very Instagram post shows the bluesmaster sitting against a rich gold curtain, wearing his almost trademark flamboyant garb: a brilliantly colored red shirt with white blotches, a small-hemmed black bowler, and extremely loose-fitting trousers. The snap, in a sense, is telling of the whole energy zinged throughout his journey: lively, brash, and with a pinch of indifference.
Almost immediately, the comments were flooded with expressions of love and respect. A user from Munich, Germany, said: “Warmest wishes to you, Buddy Guy, one of the greatest blues musicians.” Another commented on how Buddy was their entrance to blues, writing: “First time listening to blues. Definitely a fan now.” The excitement from the others was not all about the music; one user went on to say that the day the album comes out might just be his birthday as well, calling it an impeccable joining of celebrations.
Many a few would just not be able to make it to Chicago to see the great night. “Wish I could be there,” one follower sighed before compensating: “But looking forward to the album drop!” The feeling was echoed by many others that would have loved to be there to witness the event but decided to cheer for the legend from afar instead.
Ain’t Done with The Blues” is an apt reminder of Buddy’s relentless pursuit of blues. At 89 years, he still holds the line and drives it hard and proves that in the art of raw talent and soulful expression, age is but a number. And there’s so much excitement for the release party to be held at Buddy Guy’s Legends that ticket sales are now in full swing.
Buddy’s reach spreads from Chicago and afar. From Munich to first-time listeners, his music is bridging generational and cultural barriers. The presence of comments also makes it very evident that this album will do just that.

For those unable to attend the big birthday party, their reason to celebrate could just lie in album pre-orders, which went live weeks ago. For sure, this much is clear: Buddy Guy is far from finished, and neither is this massive amount of outpouring love coming his way from everywhere on the globe!
