Brooklyn Beckham fends off legal battle with tennis star Roger Federer as he continues attempts to expand his hot sauce company amid family rift

Brooklyn Beckham has reportedly become embroiled in his third legal battle over his hot sauce company – this time by a major trainer brand backed by Roger Federer.

The son of Victoria and David Beckham, 26, announced the launch of his spicy condiment, Cloud23, back in October.

However, after making plans to expand his business, he ran into a series of legal disputes with companies and the US Patent and Trademark Office over the name of the hot sauce.

Brooklyn named Cloud 23 – which comes in flavours Sweet Jalapeno and Hot Habanero – after the No.23 jersey his footballer father wore at Real Madrid and LA Galaxy.

But the name is reported to have provoked yet another clash – this time with a popular trainer company, which boasts tennis legend Roger as an investor.

Swiss brand, ON, has become known for their signature Cloud shoes, thanks to their distinctive sole and minimalist aesthetic.

As well as receiving a whopping $50 million investment from Roger, the company also boasts celebrity ambassadors in the form of Hollywood star Zendaya and model Kaia Gerber.

According to The Sun, the company hired celebrity-endorsed law firm Bristows LLP, to object to Cloud23’s trademark application, under classifications such as food, booze, sauces, live streaming and sports equipment.

However, Brooklyn got lucky as both sides reportedly reached an amicable resolution, with On Cloud never following through with the objection and the trademark was registered.

The aspiring chef has already been through two legal disputes over naming rights, after expanding his Buster Sauce Inc company.

A the start of the year, it was revealed he was in the final stages of launching his very own ‘Brand Beckham’ empire, following in dad David’s footsteps.

He planned to add to his £10million fortune with the creation of a personal brand under the Cloud 23 label, including food, drinks and clothing.

But when he started on plans to open up a burger restaurant in the US called Beck’s Buns, he faced several obstacles.

The German parent firm of Beck’s beer allegedly challenged Brooklyn’s attempts to trademark Beck’s Buns in June.

A source told The Sun that Brauerei Beck & Co had been granted a one-month extension to file documents relating to their challenge.

The huge company is part of alcohol giant AB InBev, which producers a quarter of the world’s lagers, including Stella Artois and Budweiser.

However, in light of the row with Beck’s, Brooklyn tweaked his trademark application to include restaurants and delete the two classifications linked to booze.

He was then dealt another blow, when Californian wine business Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars objected to his attempts to trademark the shortened name, C23, for Cloud 23.

But, again he was able to resolve the issue by backing down and deleting all classes of alcohol from Buster Hot Sauce Inc’s application.

Brooklyn pushed full steam ahead with the venture and last month, finally revealed the branding for Beck’s Buns, allegedly using the financial backing of his wife Nicola Peltz and her billionaire father, Nelson.

A source told The Sun: ‘Brooklyn has long dreamed of opening a restaurant where he lives and that is finally coming to fruition.

‘He has created Beck’s Buns and quietly launched it on social media last month. Brooklyn’s company Buster Sauce Inc owns the trademark and he is planning to open a restaurant.

‘The menu is still being decided but it’ll be high quality burgers with his signature Buster hot sauces.’

His new career venture comes as his feud with his family shows no signs of being resolved anytime soon, after he skipped his mother Victoria’s Paris Fashion Week show last week.

The rest of the Beckham family showed up in force to support Victoria, 51, at her runway show in Paris, with David and children Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14,  all sitting front row and sharing tributes to the designer on social media.

However, Brooklyn and his wife Nicola, 30, were noticeably absent, marking the second time this year he has missed one of his mum’s shows, after also being absent from her Paris runway in March, before tensions within the family became public.
