Bridget Regan and Yara Martinez took a walk together behind the red carpet moments for Roxana Ortega’s one-woman show, ‘Am I Roxie!’ at the Geffen Playhouse, engendering much nostalgic feeling from fans remembering Luisa and Rose from the famous CW show. Regan included a strong appeal to her followers to witness the show if they can, which runs until October 5.

An opening at a theater cannot be more like a family reunion to Bridget Regan. So early this week, the actress turned up in support of the one-woman show ‘Am I Roxie!’ by Roxana Ortega at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles-but her plus one was the one immediately stealing half the limelight! Yara Martinez, Regan’s on-screen wife from the dearly loved ‘Jane the Virgin.’
One picture is enough: two big smiles are exchanged while both ladies look gorgeous standing in front of that bold backdrop which read AM I ROXIE? in huge letters. Regan looked very supportive of her friend and the theater: in a beautiful black and white outfit, clutch in hand. Let’s say that no one was looking at the decor.
It was everything to the fans of the beloved CW hit filled with telenovela-I mean Luisa and Rose-together again-In the wild.
The caption was gracious and right to the point: gave shout-outs to Ortega and the Geffen and urged everyone to see the “incredibly special” show before early October. But the comments? They basically turned into a full-blown appreciation party for Jane the Virgin.
“Luisa and Rose are backkkkk!!” one enthusiastic fan exclaimed, aptly capturing the sentiment of the masses with a couple of sparkle emojis for good measure. That sentiment echoed all over.
It went further: “You know ours is the greatest love story ever told.” A bold claim, but for fans of the show’s most chaotic and beloved couple, it probably doesn’t feel that far off.
It really hit the mark: “Does my Jane the Virgin heart so good. Aww,” wrote another fan currency deep into the nostalgia pool. The show shouted its last yell some years ago while affection for these characters-who were given life by the actors-who are still very much alive.
Actor Robert Gant was there as well with a “Love it! And love Yara. Haven’t seen her in years! A great trio. Glad you guys had fun!,” suggesting that the evening was a mini-reunion in many ways.
And the party was making noise across the Atlantic. One Portuguese comment was translated to “My godddd my coupleee is back 😭,” and the other simply begged, “#voltajanethevirgin” – basically, “return Jane the Virgin.” The longing is real, my friends.
Regan and Martinez played the weirdly unpredictable and oddly endearing love match of television. Luisa, the always-deeply-troubled-but-with-a-huge-heart sister, and Rose, the absolutely ruthless-yet-utterly-in-love criminal. Their love story was a rollercoaster-through fake deaths, secret identities, and rescue missions for both of them. To actually observe those two actors together, smiling and supporting each other in this real world, feels like a much-needed peaceful epilogue to all that chaos.

Opening nights come and go, but a reunion like that? That is what really makes happy both the internet and a good number of fans. It is just a tiny little post about supporting a friend’s work that turned into something so beautiful for shared memories and appreciation. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
