One TikTok user is going viral for opting for an unlikely pair of wedding-day shoes.
Bryce Ann Robertson-Knight, 24, also known as @ravebbybryce, exclusively tells PEOPLE why she decided to wear a pair of platform Crocs to her July 19 wedding.
The Tacoma, Wash., resident and her husband, Zavier Robertson-Knight, “wanted to achieve a garden fairytale look for not only the decor, but for ourselves” — and one way she was able to do that was through her footwear.
She explains that “everyone loved the Crocs” and her photographer, Lexi Tobin, ensured to get some snaps of the shoes, because “they really did go with everything else.”
Bryce says that she wore a pair of kitten heels to start her day but decided to immediately change “into something more comfortable for the rest of the evening.”
But her wedding dress was hemmed for a three-inch heel.
“[That meant] whatever shoes I changed into had to have a three-inch platform in order for me to not be tripping over my dress for the duration of the evening post-ceremony.”
She quickly took to the internet to find a pair of shoes. “Crocs quickly came up due to their wide variety of platform options,” she shares. Then one day, she and her mother were passing by an outlet mall and stopped there to look at the Crocs store.
Although Bryce found a few options, there was nothing she loved. But as the mother and daughter were leaving the mall, they spotted the brand new Disney store, which she says was a rarity, because “we have never had one of those near me.”
“So I was so excited to be able to go into a real Disney store without having to fly to California or Florida,” she says. “We go in and reminisce together about my childhood days, looking at all the princess costumes and in the corner, literally hung right above the floor, almost tucked away, were my princess Cinderella Crocs.”
She continues: “I tried them on in the store and they fit like a glass slipper. I almost put them back because it was a ‘silly’ idea to wear those for my wedding.” But it was her mother who helped her consider the possibility by simply asking if they were comfortable.
“I replied that they were much more comfortable than any heel I had tried on so far. She asked if I loved them, and of course I did. So she bought them for me, and those became my wedding shoes.”
This isn’t unusual for Bryce, since she’s a self-proclaimed Crocs fan and has been since she started wearing them as a teenager as an employee at a summer camp. “[I] have continued to collect different pairs for different events,” she says. “I have sparkly black everyday Crocs, multiple pairs for festivals and pairs that are just for fashion.”
As for sharing her accessories decision on TikTok, she says she was just posting “a silly little TikTok,” and it “exploded overnight,” with comments from Disney and Crocs — the latter of which sent her and her husband a special gift. “So many people in the comments were responding with photos of their own alternative footwear from their weddings, Crocs, Chucks, Vans, even blinged-out slippers,” she adds.
Bryce paired the Crocs with the “Harlem” ballgown designed by Maggie Sottero that she found at The Wedding Bell in Tacoma — which she tried on during her very first bridal appointment. “I felt like the fairy princess I had always dreamed of feeling like,” she says of her wedding day.
“My husband felt so loved and handsome in his custom suit,” she adds, noting he wore a custom suit designed by a friend, designer Patrick Kd.
“Our wedding was a beautiful July day filled with so much love, laughter and dancing,” she says. “We had a few family members and friends tell us and our wedding venue owner that our wedding was one of the most beautiful and joyous weddings that they had ever had the pleasure of attending.”

Despite running in the same friend groups for several years, the couple first met in 2022, when Zavier was a plus-one at Bryce’s 21st birthday party. “We were immediately stuck like glue,” she recalls.
“He waited almost an entire year to officially ask me to be his girlfriend, and now almost two years after that, I’m his wife,” she says, adding, “I feel so grateful to have met my forever person so young and to have our whole lives ahead of us to love one another and build a loving family.”
