The Biggest Loser became a worldwide phenomenon in the early 2000s and changed the way that a lot of people looked at weight loss. Now, the show is under scrutiny after Netflix released the docu-series Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser.
The docu-series is putting a critical lens on the long-running series, which ran for 17 seasons on NBC and one final season on USA Network.
The competition series followed overweight and obese people competing to lose the most weight in order to win a cash prize, but also transform themselves in the process. Across the 18 seasons, hundreds of contestants lost thousands of pounds collectively on the show.
