Ben Stiller is not planning to direct any episodes in season three of Apple TV’s Severance.
The 59-year-old actor and director has been extremely involved in the first two seasons, having directed six episodes in season one and five in season two, including the epic finale.
Now, he has confirmed he will not be directing any in season three, but as an executive producer on the show, he has been working on the show in pre-production all year.

“I’m at the point in my life where I’m like, ‘The clock is ticking,’” he told the LA Times when speaking about it. Instead of directing Severance, he’s planning to direct a World War II film.
He added, “Sixty sounds old. It’s hard to get around it.”
“These things take time to come together and the older you get, the more you realize that you only have so much time,” Ben added.
When fans heard this news, there was some panic, as Ben has been so instrumental in the series.
Ben assured everyone: “It’s been full time the last 8 months working on season 3 and I’m not going anywhere. We have incredible directors and a team that creates the show. I love directing it and look forward to at some point again for sure. I feel like season 3 is going to be the best yet as we continue to evolve.”
