An airport worker has reportedly been rescued after getting trapped in the cargo hold of an Air Canada Rouge plane.
Flight AC1502, which was scheduled to depart from Toronto to Moncton, New Brunswick, turned back to the departure gates at Pearson International Airport on Dec. 13 after screams were heard as it taxied towards the runway, according to the CBC and Toronto Star.
Passengers reported loud banging and screaming sounds to cabin crew, with some even calling the authorities, reported CBC.
Staff then discovered the baggage handler stuck in the cargo hold, according to the outlet.
“Some of the people who were sitting towards the back of the plane heard the person screaming and banging, trying to get their attention,” passenger Gabrielle Caron told CBC.
“We’re noticing the Flight Attendants are kind of running back and forth in the airplane and on the ground, we could see the crew gathering around the plane, so we knew something was happening.”

“The good news is that the person is fine and safe,” the pilot added in his message.
“We had already started taxiing when a baggage crew member was under the aircraft in the cargo and could be heard yelling for help and banging underneath us,” the Instagram user wrote in the caption.
