Anthony Mackie, having truly become Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has made super funny revelations about what this role entails. Confirming in an interview with The Tonight Show that Avengers: Doomsday is already in production, Mackie said that he might actually get more screen time than initially expected. Then came the real comedy when Fallon asked about the perks for being an iconic superhero.

Mackie declared, “I get free appetizers now everywhere,” and the room erupted in laughter. “Not entree status yet, but appetizers? Oh yeah. And good cheese too, you know, gorgonzola.” The delightful actor went on to muse over the small luxuries he never really thought would come with superhero fame, further endearing himself to the fans.
Shared via The Tonight Show’s Instagram account, the moment garnered thousands of reactions. One user offered a perfect summary: “Lmao I love him so much. ‘What’s the perks of being Captain America?’ ‘Free cheese.’” Another chimed in, siding, “Mackie’s such a good dude, man,” which led to a mini-debate shortly after where dissenters were basically asked to back down with some evidence.
Others praised Mackie for just being himself: “Being charming as hell comes so natural to this man.” “I love that his Cap is still a therapist and peacemaker. Anthony Mackie is such a great dude. I hope he gets some big moments in these films,” said another.
The love for Mackie’s incarnation of Captain America was loud and clear, with others giving their full endorsement: “You can never make me hate Anthony Mackie,” said one, while another remarked, “He is the perfect next chapter of Captain America.”
Some comments veered off-topic, with one contributor noting humorously, “Why is Anthony Mackie sounding like chocolate Will Smith when I close my eyes?” Then, another shouter said, “Omg Jimmy looks just like pastor Chris Hodges and why have I just noticed that?”
Combining humor with sincerity has been Mackie’s recipe for winning hearts in interviews and on-screen performances. Whether joking about free cheese or lining himself up for a significant role in Avengers: Doomsday, one thing is for sure: He sure knows how to entertain.

And if free cheese is indeed a part of the deal? Maybe the rest of us ought to look into a superhero career.
