Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer‘s marriage has reached the end of the line.
The Trainwreck star and the chef, who are parents to 6-year-old son Gene, broke up seven years after their wedding.
“Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage,” Amy shared in an Instagram statement Dec. 12. “We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son.”
Noting that the split was “amicable” and there’s “love and respect” all around, the 44-year-old went on to shut down speculation of what went wrong.
“Not becisse I dropped some lbs and thought I could bag s basket,” she quipped, “and not because he’s a hot Janlmes beard award winning chef who can still pull some hot tail.”
Amy added, “Family forever.”
She shared the same sentiment earlier in December, when she seemingly confirmed her relationship with Chris, 45, was on the rocks. At the time, she said “whatever ends up happening” had “nothing to do” with her recent weight loss or his autism diagnosis.
