Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are gearing up to say “I do!”
The “Opalite” singer and the Kansas City Chiefs athlete announced their engagement in August 2025, and they’ve already shared some insight into their future wedding plans. Although Swift and Kelce have kept tight-lipped about specific wedding details, they’ve both teased that they’re “excited” to get started on the planning.
Kelce proposed to Swift in a backyard floral paradise with a custom, old mine brilliant-cut diamond.
“He’s like, ‘My heart is racing,’ and I’ve never seen this dude nervous, ever,” Swift recalled of the moments leading up to the proposal in an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Oct. 6. “He’s professionally not a nervous person.”
From gushing over the engagement ring to publicly extending a wedding invitation to one of her friends, here’s everything Taylor Swift has said about her upcoming wedding to Travis Kelce.
Swift said she looks at her “crazy” engagement ring “constantly”

Shortly after Swift and Kelce got engaged, the singer appeared in several interviews to promote her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, and talked about her engagement and wedding plans.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Oct. 6, Jimmy Fallon complimented her dazzling engagement ring and said that he was “blinded” by the rock.
“It’s crazy, that’s crazy,” she said while admiring the piece. “I look at it constantly, it doesn’t feel in any way normal for me, I’m still like, ‘Oh man, wow!’ ”
While Swift expressed love for the ring, she also added that she admires the ring more for what it “represents.”
“Because he’s just my favorite person I’ve ever met, no offense to everyone else I’ve ever met,” she shared. “The fact that this is the person I get to hang out with every day forever, that’s the whole thing of it, that’s the win, and this represents that.”
The singer said Kelce “crushed it” with his marriage proposal

While speaking about the romantic proposal, Swift gushed that her fiancé “really crushed it when it came to surprising me.”
“We had actually filmed a podcast episode — he has a podcast called New Heights — so we filmed the podcast for about three or four hours … and meanwhile behind his house, he was having the whole back garden turned into this,” she said on an Oct. 3 appearance of the U.K. chat show The Graham Norton Show.
She continued, “And one of the things that he put in there, very strategically, was a wall of hedges that weren’t there before. And inside the hedges was my tour photographer hiding in bushes that had not previously been there.”
The Grammy winner complimented Kelce for going “all out” and gave him a score of “10 out of 10.”
However, when asked if she’s ready to start planning her wedding, Swift said that she wanted to continue focusing on The Life of a Showgirl.
“I want to do the album stuff first, and the wedding is what happens after in terms of planning. I think it will be fun to plan,” she teased.
She “never thought about” a wedding — before meeting Kelce

Although Swift has written several songs about love and weddings, she revealed that she had never previously pictured her own wedding — until getting involved with Kelce.
“You would think that I had been the type of person who would have obsessed over the idea of a wedding my whole life, but I actually never thought about what I would ever do or what I would want until I met the person,” Swift said on Heart Radio in the U.K. on Oct. 3.
The “Cruel Summer” singer added that she hasn’t fully comprehended her new “married life era” but is “really excited” for what’s in store.
Swift hasn’t given a lot of thought to her bachelorette party

Among other aspects of her wedding, Swift said that she hasn’t thought much about a possible bachelorette party.
“So I haven’t even thought about that, doing a hen do [U.K. name for a bachelorette party] or whatever,” she said on Heart Radio. “This is the first time I have thought about that.”
When the interviewer reminded Swift that she has a “good girl gang,” Swift agreed that “they’re so fun” but that it might be hard to get everyone together, because they’re “so busy” and “scattered across the world.”
While Swift has had evolving friendships over the years, some of her closest friends include Selena Gomez — whose wedding she attended in September 2025— Zoë Kravitz, the Haim sisters, Brittany Mahomes and Blake Lively.

The “Love Story” singer revealed that she had already been thinking about her wedding guest list when she invited her longtime friend Greg James. During their Oct. 3 interview on BBC Radio 1, Swift invited him on the spot after he shared that he wants to meet Kelce.
“He’s a really easy-going guy. You will absolutely love him when you meet him … He’s a real vibes guy,” Swift said.
James pointed out that because he and Swift “have known each other for so long,” he “needs to check for sure” that Kelce is a good guy and added that he would love to “play catch” with him.
“The way that he’s going to do that as soon as he sees you at our wedding. That’s gonna happen,” she said, while adding that she and James are “actually friends.”
The radio journalist appeared shocked and asked if she was inviting him to the wedding, to which she replied, “Obviously.”
Before wrapping up the interview, James thanked her for the “invite to the wedding,” and she said, “You’re so welcome.”
“I don’t normally like a destination wedding, but for you I would make an exception,” James said, and Swift replied, “Sick,” while saying she’ll tell him her wedding location “at a different time.”
She’s “very excited” to “focus” on wedding planning

After Swift released The Life of a Showgirl, a source close to the artist told PEOPLE that she’s ready to pivot her attention toward wedding planning.
“She’s been super focused on work commitments. She’s not kidding when she says she’s exhausted. She’s ready for a break so she can focus on the wedding,” the insider shared on Oct. 6. “She’s very excited about planning the wedding.”
A second source added that the couple are still enjoying being engaged and are “trying to enjoy some downtime together and let it all sink in.”
“Being engaged hasn’t fully hit either of them yet,” the source shared. “It’s still kind of strange and exciting and new to say ‘fiancé’ when they’re talking about each other, and they both kind of laugh every time they catch themselves saying it. They’ve just been taking it all in quietly.”
The source added, “It’s been a lot of excitement all at once. They’re both just really happy. It’s been a whirlwind, but it’s the good kind. They know how lucky they are to be in this moment together.”
Their wedding will be a “private affair”

Although the couple are still in the early days of wedding planning, a source told PEOPLE that fans shouldn’t expect a public hoopla.
“It will definitely be a private affair and not a spectacle,” the source explained. “They both have a close circle of friends, and they’ll respect their privacy.”
Kelce has also kept tight-lipped on wedding details

As for Kelce, the Super Bowl champion has not gone into detail about his future nuptials. He initially expressed his excitement over their engagement on the Sept. 3 episode of his New Heights podcast and said that he was still “giddy” calling Swift his fiancée.
“I appreciate everybody that reached out and sent something and all the posts and all the excitement that’s been going on. It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with,” Kelce said.
However, when it comes to the wedding itself, Kelce has kept information close to his chest — even when his brother, Jason Kelce, point-blank asked him, “When’s the wedding?”
“Get this guy out of here!” Kelce said while laughing during an Oct. 5 Monday Night Countdown sit down. “I was wondering what he was gonna ask.”
