Lola Kirke almost smiled, leaning so close to the camera that she was almost spilling out into it: “The last song from the Deluxe version of my album, Trailblazer, comes out this Friday.” She sounded excited as she gave a little taste, humming through a verse and bridge from the track. It actually sounded more like share-with-your-friends vibes than a genuine promotional occasion.
The post received a gush of comments and reactions, many instantly endorsing and appreciating it. “Take my money. Love your posts,” wrote one, surely epitomizing the eagerness of the masses waiting for this drop. Another one exclaimed about her attire, “We love your Texas shirt!! Yeeha!!”
Praises for the new music were just as loud, with one advocate shouting, “Wow that’s got Grammy written all over it,” implying that the short snippet holds the ground just fine by itself. Another whimsical soul focused on a special sound, “i love the part that goes dink dink dink dink.” Kirke embraced it, replying, “thank you me too!!”
Then came the ominous warning from another, citing possible copyright infringement. “better check if it clears Lola, cuuz..sounds a lot like the beginning of ‘Low Rider’ from the opening credits of Cheech and Chong’s ‘Up in Smoke’,” came the charge, prompting what seemed to be a genuinely concerned Kara reply of, “fuck i dont want to get into a copyright situation thank you so much.” The said user was quick to admit he was “bustin yer chops” and then asked her to check a DM in hopes of smoothing over the jest.
Other remarks turned toward Kirke herself. “wow your eyes are amazing!!,” gushed one. Then came this dark one: “Did u eat a lot of paint chips when you were young?” Needless to say, it was a bit of a sore thumb against an otherwise upbeat environment.

The preview is nice and warm for the release of the last deluxe song, with snippets of Kirke’s pretty ‘organic’ interaction with her audience. The blend of excitement, outfit compliments, and a copyright concern talks about the deeply involved community around her music. New song comes Friday.
