A third Gremlins movie may be coming!
The original Gremlins writer Chris Columbus wrote a brand new screenplay for another installment in the franchise, and now star Zach Galligan is providing an update.
“After 35 years, they’ve come up with a script,” he told the crowd of a new installment in the horror-comedy franchise at Comic-Con Manchester, via Bloody Disgusting.

Warner Bros. CEOs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy said previously in 2025 that they’re working with Amblin and Chris Columbus on a new installment in the Gremlins film franchise as well.
A third movie has been rumored for years, with reports of a script from Chris Columbus stretching back to 2017.
In the 1984 original film, after receiving an exotic small animal as a Christmas gift, a young man inadvertently breaks three important rules concerning his new pet, which unleashes a horde of malevolently mischievous creatures on a small town.
