A decision has been made to to wind down Nelvana’s existing productions and pause all new products “for the time being” as parent company Corus Entertainment continues to face financial troubles.
Launched in 1971, animation studio Nelvana has given us The Care Bears Movie, Franklin, Babar, The Magic School Bus, and lots more.
Additionally, the Family Channel will be shutting down, as neither Bell nor Rogers will be carrying it in their cable packages. Having been around since 1988, the channel carried family-friendly content, several Disney Channel shows, and ONTD fave “Life With Derek.” RIP.
